Something to think about

"[T]here are millions of people in this country who agree with Obama and the rabble who constitute the Occupy Wall Street movement. They resent rich people. In Obama's case, he only resents rich people who don't kick in to his re-election war chest. But even he, who is a multi-millionaire, believes that other wealthy people should hand over their money to the poor. And not in the form of charity, which has always been the American way, but through taxation and federal redistribution. There are several reasons why this should be abhorrent to everyone. For one thing, an awful lot of poor people are leeches. They don't work even when jobs are readily available. And when they're given money, food stamps and housing, they aren't even grateful. They regard it as their due. For another thing, the weaponry used in class warfare is envy, which, along with its Siamese twin, self-pity, are the two most loathsome human emotions. Those who have less than others are told that the only reason for the imbalance is that they've been cheated. ... The truth is, there is nothing noble about poverty, especially not in America, where, thanks to limitless opportunities to improve one's lot, it is probably more difficult to remain poor for more than a single generation than it is to become wealthy."

The New Democratic Socialist Party

Way to go Democrats! You have officially come out of the closet! Time to change your name to the Democratic Socialists Party!

I'm sure we all remember the wonderful 10-2-2010 rally that the Dems supported where every lowlife anti-American Marxist sleazed out from their hole to attend (see my earlier posts from Oct of last year on that little gem of a rally. Just scroll down through the month to find the entries). Now, the "Democratic Socialists" Party is endorsing those wonderful "patriots" at the Occupy Wall Street Rallies!

According to the Dems, they are clean-cut, grass-roots Americans who are frustrated with "the System."  Let's just take a look at the list of OWS supporters and sponsors (courtesy of pjmedia.com):

Random Thoughts

Parents encouraged their kids to borrow ridiculous amounts of money in order to pay exorbitantly high tuition fees for college, but when it comes time to start paying it back the kids decided to be mad at the banks! Makes total sense - who would have ever thought they would have to pay back borrowed money?

Next week: Occupy Wall Street protesters get angry about having to pay for internet, healthcare, college, food, iPads, computers, gas, cars, houses, shoes, jewelry, TVs, etc. You know, just the basic stuff everyone is entitled to.

Quote

Whether the particular issue is housing, medical care or anything in between, the agenda of the left is to take the decision out of the hands of those directly involved and transfer that decision to third parties, who pay no price for making decisions that turn out to be counterproductive.

Another Example of the Marxist in the White House

Here we have yet another example of Obama showing just how much of an anti-capitalist he really is.

During his interview with George Stephanoupolos, when asked about the new bank fees being implemented, the Marxist-In-Chief said the following:

“You don’t have some inherent right just to– you know, get a certain amount of profit.

Excuse me?!  Actually, Mr. President, you nimrod, companies exist for that very reason, to make a profit! And not you, nor the government has any right to try and dictate how much they can make.

Tuesday's Quote

"Two-thirds of the federal budget consists of taking property from one American and giving it to another. Were a private person to do the same thing, we'd call it theft. When government does it, we euphemistically call it income redistribution, but that's exactly what thieves do -- redistribute income. Income redistribution not only betrays the founders' vision, it's a sin in the eyes of God. ...
No human should be coerced by the state to bear the medical expense, or any other expense, for his fellow man. In other words, the forcible use of one person to serve the purposes of another is morally offensive. ...
One of the wonderful things about free markets is that the path to greater wealth comes not from looting, plundering and enslaving one's fellow man, as it has throughout most of human history, but by serving and pleasing him."

"Fairness"

The top 5 percent of taxpayers contribute 60 percent of government revenue; the top 10 percent of taxpayers contribute 75 percent of revenue; another two-fifths make up the rest.

Half the U.S. population is now exempt from paying tax. 2012 may turn out to be the first presidential election in American history where non-taxpaying voters outnumber taxpaying voters.

At this point, remind the liberal: "Still, I guess the imbalance will find a way of working itself out in the end. Your side thinks it can go on taking more and more of our money. Our side has most of the guns and ammunition.

Tuesday's Quote

"I want the people of America to be able to work less for the government and more for themselves. I want them to have the rewards of their own industry. This is the chief meaning of freedom. Until we can reestablish a condition under which the earnings of the people can be kept by the people, we are bound to suffer a very severe and distinct curtailment of our liberty."
--President Calvin Coolidge (1872-1933)

Tuesday Quote

"Socialism in general has a record of failure so blatant that only an intellectual could ignore or evade it. ... It is amazing that people who think we cannot afford to pay for doctors, hospitals, and medication somehow think that we can afford to pay for doctors, hospitals, medication and a government bureaucracy to administer it. ... The first lesson of economics is scarcity: there is never enough of anything to fully satisfy all of those who want it. The first lesson of politics is to disregard the first lesson of economics. ... The welfare state is not really about the welfare of the masses. It is about the egos of the elites."

Ok, help me with this one...

From our illustrious leader:

"I do not want and I will not accept a deal in which I am asked to do nothing. In fact, I'm able to keep hundreds of thousands of dollars in additional income that I don't need, while a parent out there who is struggling to figure out how to send their kid to college suddenly finds that they've got a couple thousand dollars less in grants or student loans."
--Barack Obama

So, let me see if I can piece his meaning together on this one.. Is he saying that any money that the government has decided you "don't need" belongs to the government? If this is the case, then you are only getting to keep the money you earned at the pleasure of the US Government.. ?

Can someone explain to me how this Leftist viewpoint can even remotely exist within the bounds of the U.S. Constitution? Karl Marx would be proud.

Our Illustrious Hypocrite-In-Chief

"The fact that we are here today to debate raising America's debt limit is a sign of leadership failure. It is a sign that the U.S. government can't pay its own bills. It is a sign that we now depend on ongoing financial assistance from foreign countries to finance our government's reckless fiscal policies. ... Increasing America's debt weakens us domestically and internationally. Leadership means that 'the buck stops here.' Instead, Washington is shifting the burden of bad choices today onto the backs of our children and grandchildren. America has a debt problem and a failure of leadership. Americans deserve better."
 - Senator Barack Obama, in 2006, when he voted against increasing the ceiling

Thursday's Quote

A job – a good, long-term, well-compensated job – represents the intersection of opportunity and commitment.  There must be a need for the employee’s labor, and a reason for the employer to begin what both parties hope will be a long relationship, which begins with a heavy investment in training.  Who is better suited to find these opportunities, and negotiate the terms of a sustainable commitment: a small group of politically insulated central planners in Washington, or millions of private-sector employers scattered across the nation, each focused on exploiting the opportunities they have discovered?

Thursday's Quote

"The ordaining of laws in favor of one part of the nation, to the prejudice and oppression of another, is certainly the most erroneous and mistaken policy. An equal dispensation of protection, rights, privileges, and advantages, is what every part is entitled to, and ought to enjoy."

Monday's Quote

"25 States allow anyone to buy a gun, strap it on, and walk down the street with no permit of any kind: some say it's crazy. However, 4 out of 5 US murders are committed in the other half of the country: so who is crazy?"
-- Andrew Ford

"We who live in free market societies believe that growth, prosperity and ultimately human fulfillment are created from the bottom up, not the government down. Only when the human spirit is allowed to invent and create, only when individuals are given a personal stake in deciding economic policies and benefiting from their success -- only then can societies remain economically alive, dynamic, progressive, and free. ... Only private industry in the last analysis can provide jobs with a future. ... The fact is, we'll never build a lasting economic recovery by going deeper into debt at a faster rate than we ever have before. ... In this present crisis, government is not the solution to our problem; government is the problem."

New York: The #2 third-rate craphole Socialist state..(CA still holding the prize of course)

Gotta love this one...you want a minimum wage job in New York City pumping gas? Hold it right there, Mister! Before you can have such a complex, dangerous and vital job as a Gas Jockey, you have to pay a fee, and pass a test in order to be considered ‘fit for dispensing motor fuel.’

Now, let's forget the fact that anyone 16 years old or older who drives can pull up to a self-serve pump and pump their own gas...but if you want to work at gas station that offers a self-serve pump, you must be  'P-15 licensed'! Now unless I missed something, to my recollection these positions aren't exactly prime paying positions...and the government is requiring they pay a $25.00 fee ($15.00 to renew) and take a test?

Oh, and that's not all...the requirements for this license is as follows (from the city's web site):

QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS
  1. Applicants must be at least 18 years of age.
  2. Applicants must have a reasonable understanding of the English language.
  3. Applicants must present a letter of recommendation from his/her employer. The letter must be on official letterhead and must state the applicant’s full name, character, physical condition, experience, and address of premises where applicant will be employed.
  4. Applicants must present two (2) forms of satisfactory identification i.e., driver’s license and passport picture ID.
LETTER OF RECOMMENDATION?! FOR PUMPING GAS?!
The letter must state the applicant's CHARACTER?! PHYSICAL CONDITION?! Are you kidding me?!

Not to worry, though! Anyone who is a bit stressed over taking the exam, there's a company out there that sells a study guide for $20!

An open commentary to Democrats

Although I am not a Democrat or a Republican, I used to understand why other people would choose to be one or the other. And I can still understand how some people can be Republicans, but it is beyond my comprehension how anyone could still be a Democrat in Wisconsin in the age of YouTube.

The Democrats’ response to losing an election here has been appalling; disgraceful conduct documented with phone cameras for the whole world to see. Democrat rallies and
protests have been marked by profanity, intimidation, death threats, vandalism, trespassing on private residences, anti-American rhetoric, boycotts of neutral businesses, extortion, and fraud.

My dear Democrat friends, that is not what democracy looks like; it is what Democrats look like. Your Party has become vile, disgraceful, and disgusting, and you have lived long enough in denial of what and who you have become.

Own it.

It’s not just the mob scenes that disgust. Perhaps the most dishonest political ad in history was run by Democrats in a supposedly non-partisan Supreme Court race, exploiting the victim of child abuse for political gain. Own it, Party of the children.

Your Democrat legislators wore union t-shirts on the floor of the assembly while in session; shouting and throwing things and threatening to kill a female Republican lawmaker.

This is how you treat women who think for themselves. Own it, Party of women.

Your public sector unions – firefighters and teachers - organized a campaign to drown out yesterday’s taxpayer rally on the steps of the Capitol building.

You exist now only to deprive others of their right to be heard; and your idea of civil is dropping F-bombs at a child who came to hear Sarah Palin speak.

You have embraced disgrace – so own it, Party of civil rights.

You booed the national anthem. Read that again, friends; take a moment to reflect fully upon the depths to which your Democrat party has sunk, and then OWN IT.

On that same day the office of a recall drive against one of the 14 AWOL Democrat Senators was burglarized with computers and petitions stolen

– just like Nixon in 1972. You also threatened to blow up a radio station over content you don’t like. You were busy little fascist criminals on Saturday

- own it, Nixonites.

If these are just isolated examples of people acting out, then show me where your Party leaders have denounced them. Who have you expelled from your Party for the shame they have brought to it? And who is your Ron Paul, your conscience who calls you out when you have strayed from your core values

- Charlie Rangel?

Your Democrat State Senator Lena Taylor recently got herself on TV to rant against some $142 million of tax breaks Governor Walker has given to his cronies, but when asked, she could not name one. Your comprehensive plan to balance the budget and avoid default is to chant “Fox Lies!”

This is the depth of your intellectual curiosity and the extent of your economic literacy. Own it.

Yours is the party that extended our military stay in Iraq, increased our commitment in Afghanistan, spread that war into Pakistan and Yemen, and started another in Libya. When it was Bush dropping the bombs, you came to us Libertarians and begged us to join you to stop him; haven’t seen you around now that is your guy killing little brown people. He lies to you and you love him for it. Own that.

What does it take for you decent Democrats - and I know there are many of you who will read this - to walk away from a Party that has already abandoned the principles that attracted you to it in the first place? How much of your pride are you still willing to forfeit to a Party that has none? What is your last straw – does blowing an angry horn at a downs-syndrome person for waving a flag not do it for you?

It’s your mirror you need to look in every day, not mine. It was a far less obnoxious abandonment of principle that led me to leave the GOP many years ago.

It is true that I get along better with them than with Democrats as a rule; that rule is that they don’t send me death threats when I write something they don’t like.

Nearly a third of the American electorate is now non-affiliated with either of the two major Parties; each Democrat/socialist/union rally drives more of you into our camp. You Democrats do not persuade us with temper tantrums, threats, profane personal attacks, and all manner of judicial chicanery.

I don’t even know what you stand for anymore; I don’t speak drum.

Yours was once the Party of Kennedy; it is now the Party that boos the national anthem. Own that – and then walk away. You will feel better about yourself, and you might just save your Party from the hooligans who have run it into disrepute.

Today's quote (One of my favorites from Jefferson)

"To take from one, because it is thought his own industry and that of his fathers has acquired too much, in order to spare to others, who, or whose fathers, have not exercised equal industry and skill, is to violate arbitrarily the first principle of association, the guarantee to everyone the free exercise of his industry and the fruits acquired by it."

--Thomas Jefferson, letter to Joseph Milligan, 1816

Am I the only one who finds it interesting that quotes from the Honorable men that founded our country always seem to be near complete opposites of the far Left's philosophy and agenda?

The latest from the People's Republik of Kalifornia

The California Federation of Teachers (part of the AFL-CIO; you know, the group whose leader recently received a service award from the Communist Party USA) has adopted a resolution at its annual conference supporting convicted cop-killer Mumia Abu-Jamal. (He was a former member of the Black Panther Party, was convicted of shooting, multiple times, Philadelphia police officer Daniel Faulkner in 1981.) Now, why would they do this? Why because they consider this guy a "civil rights hero", of course! To use their own words:

“Mumia Abu-Jamal has for decades as a journalist fought courageously against racism and police brutality and for the human rights of all people and has taken strong stands in support of working people involved in labor struggles and in support of well-funded, quality, public education,”

Gotta love it!

So let's just run down a quick recap of some of the great stories from this great "Beacon of Freedom and Liberty" known as California:

New fast food restaurants banned in South L.A. - Nothing like telling people what they are allowed to eat..but wait! According to council member Jan Perry, "This is not an attempt to control people as to what they can put into their mouths. This is an attempt to diversify their food options."  Whew! Glad we cleared that up.

Hispanic students in CA school ditch classes to protest the wearing of the US flag on Cinco de Mayo - All about respect you know (at least that's what they were chanting during their protest). Not to worry though! Live Oak High School principal is on the case to quell such anti-Americanism! In response he sent four students home for wearing shirts with American flags on them...oh, wait...

Wikileaks Leaker to be Honored as Hero in California - Ah, good 'ol Berkeley (big surprise)! Remember that private who leaked over 100,000 classified government documents to Wikileaks? (For those slow on the uptake, this is called T-R-E-A-S-O-N) Well, according to the proposed city council resolution, the Army private should be released from prison and praised for his (and I quote), "courage in bringing truth to the American people and the people of the world."

California protesters beat cop with his baton while rallying against tuition hikes - Yes...the terrible, unfair, catastrophic issue that of course warrants an eruption of violence...a UC San Franciso committee was considering a tuition increase (considering, mind you) that would raise student fees 8 percent while expanding financial aid to more students. This didn't sit too well with these student bastions of liberty; about 40 of them jumped the officer in a parking garage and wrestled his baton away from him, and were beating him with it. When he drew his gun, the crowd started chanting, "Take his gun!" Fortunately, backup arrived in time.

Student body president at Cal State Fresno is Illegal Immigrant - He let this little fact stay hidden during the election...nothing like an honest and honerable candidate for student body president, I always say...Apparently there was evidence that school officials knew he was an illegal when he enrolled...

CA school order boy to remove American flag from bike - What is it that Californians have against the American flag? (well, other than being against pretty much everything it represents..) Well, apparently it wasn't acceptable for a 13 year old to have the flag on his bike to honor veterans like his grandfather (btw, he had it on his bike for 2 months prior to being told to remove it). The superintendent for the school district apparently felt that the First Amendment has to be revoked in order to be "more considerate of other cultures"...WTF?

San Francisco takes the "Happy" out of Happy Meals - Yes, it was decided to limit toy giveaways in fast food children's meals that have excessive calories, sodium and fat, and also require servings of fruits and vegetables with each meal! I mean, how dare anyone would suggest that..oh, I don't know...maybe the parents have the job of making the right food choices for their children? But then, that would be against the "collective good." To pretty much sum up in a nutshell the "please take care of me, I can't do it myself" mindset of the Socialist set, Conception Dawes, a 20-year-old mother of a 2-year-old, said she supports the ordinance – anything to help lessen the food’s appeal. “Fast food is really fattening, and it’s really addicting, and sometimes it’s hard to tell a child no,” she said.

CA Republican Loses to Dead Democrat - Good to know that California doesn't discriminate against the Respiratorially-Challenged... apparently Jenny Oropez died, but it was too late to replace her on the ballet...she still ended up winning by a 58-35 margin...don't really know where to begin with this one. Do we start with the ineptitude of the election officials? The complete lack of the general public to check basic facts about their candidate (like if they have a f*cking HEARTBEAT?), or maybe the Republican candidate just sucked so bad that a corpse was considered a viable alternative (hey, it's politics, I can so see that happening.)

Over $11 million  in CA welfare funds spent in Vegas casinos - Not just Vegas, mind you...millions more were spent in Hawaii, Miami, Guam, and elsewhere. In all about $69 million in welfare funds were spent out of state on a variety of luxuries, including Vegas slot machines, cruises, and vacations. Hey, why would anyone want to be a productive member of society? Just hop on the welfare train, no strings attached (other than voting Democrat, of course...and who says slavery was abolished? When one is dependent on the government, you are a slave to the government...oh, the cruises are just perks to buy that Democrat vote.)

Sugary drinks banned from public vending machines - Whew! Hot on the heels of the groundbreaking "Anti-Happy Meal" crusade, another big save for civilization! Cudos to the Mayor of San Francisco and his executive order powers! And don't think he's done with his "Orders of Awesomeness"...he has also banned that evil of evils...yes! I know it's hard to believe such a brave and noble maverick exists in a public office, but it's true...CITY FUNDS ARE NO LONGER USED TO PURCHASE BOTTLED WATER! His reason? Those nasty and EEEE-VIL bottled water manufacturers make too much money.

Governor Ahnold signs bill banning trans fats from the state's 88,000 restaurants - 'nuff said.

Mother, Health group sue McDonald's for "Baiting kids with happy meal toys" - Personal responsibility has officially been declared extinct... They are claiming that McDonald's decision to market directly to young children violates several consumer protection laws.. From a statement on the health group's web site (the frighteningly Orwellian "The Center for Science in the Public Interest"), McDonald's is using toys to "bait" kids, and Monet Parham (the mother) blames McDonald's for making it hard to tell her child "no." You can't make this sh*t up...

CA inmate get kosher meals for "Seinfeld Festivus Faith" - A convicted drug dealer apparently didn't like the regular food he was getting while in jail, so cited his adherance to "Festivus" to get special kosher meals. What is Festivus? It appeared on a Seinfeld episode, and was celebrated with the airing of grievances and the display of an aluminum pole...no joke. Being kosher wasn't mentioned in the episode. This bonehead got away with this for two months before the order was thrown out in court.

Bloodmobiles now illegal due to new regulations - New regulations from the "California Air Resources Board" (CARB) require all diesel powered vehicles to meet new green standards by replacing the engine or the whole vehicle. This will end up costing the San Diego blood bank over one million to convert their eight blood mobile vehicles. And why exactly? CARB based their new regulation on a study conducted by one of their staff scientists, Dr. Hien T. Tran, who, according to CARB, has a PhD in statistics from UC Davis. Problem? Just a tiny one. "Dr." Tran didn't get his degree at UC Davis. He got a mail order PhD through "Thornhill University" in New York, and is unqualified to make statistical analyses. CARB knew of this, but couldn't pass up a chance on a new Socialist green regulation. CARB Board Chairman Mary Nichols admitted that she knew before the vote, but didn't inform the rest of the board because she said it was a "distraction."

22 arrested in LA for protesting "Wall Street criminals" outside of a bank - What was that phrase again? Oh yeah..."Personal responsibility"... I guess getting a mortgage that you couldn't afford, and then having the bank eventually foreclose on your home because you don't make the payments is considered "unfair." According to the protesters, it's the banks' failure to modify many borrowers' loans...not the irresponsibility of the people that were actually expected to honor their contracts. Businesses being evil and all, those stupid old contracts shouldn't be binding on the consumer..

Berkeley to pay for sex-change operations for city workers - Ok, I'm going to assume that it's the city workers' choice whether or not they want a sex-change, and not a requirement for employment... Apparently it's more important that they support their city worker's in dealing with their gender-identity issues, than it is to actually NOT GO BANKRUPT. Berkeley's unfunded liabilities? About 252 million. The city of Berkeley turns over more and more of its property to UC Berkeley (which then pays lower tax rates), and then has forced tax increases to make up for the lost revenue... BRILLIANT! Remember, to a Socialist, it's only your money if you have the approval of the government to keep it. They know best, you know...and you can't deny these poor confused individuals their sex-change. It would violate Berkeley's Sex Reassignment Surgery Policy. (Yes, there really is such a thing.)

Save the Delta Smelt! Because you know...conservation must take precedence over stupid luxuries...like eating! The poor, poor Delta Smelt! A cute wittle fishy that now has a champion in UC Davis professor Peter Moyle! Forget the fact that even Moyle admits the smelt has no commercial value, has a life cycle of just one year, and that even in optimal conditions, it's prone to extinction anyway...  but..but...but...it's an ENDANGERED SPECIES!... The problem? Transferring water from North CA to the dry South, mostly through the Sacramento River delta. This allows saltier water to infiltrate the delta area from San Francisco Bay, which is hurting the wittle fishies. So, the government has purchased farmland in the delta and taken it out of production..and cut off fresh water deliveries to 25 million people, and about 2 million acres of rich farmland south of the delta has been greatly reduced. AWESOME!!! Results? Go fig: Massive unemployment for farmers and farm workers, rising vegetable, fruit, and rice prices, "water conservation" programs implemented that resulted in a series of water rate hikes (hits the poor and those recently unemployed the hardest...), and an exodus of water using industries to more friendlier places...taking even more jobs with them.

I just can't understand why people say that Socialism doesn't work...we have states like California as fine examples of the Socialist utopia...

Monday Quote

"You cannot bring about prosperity by discouraging thrift. You cannot help small men by tearing down big men. You cannot strengthen the weak by weakening the strong. You cannot lift the wage-earner by pulling down the wage-payer. You cannot help the poor man by destroying the rich. You cannot keep out of trouble by spending more than your income. You cannot further the brotherhood of man by inciting class hatred. You cannot establish security on borrowed money. You cannot build character and courage by taking away men's initiative and independence. You cannot help men permanently by doing for them what they could and should do for themselves."

Quot of the Day

"Leftists like to think of themselves as clear-thinking realists who are sensitive to nuance and irony. In reality, they are like little children who regard fairy tales as non-fiction. For instance, they champion socialism even though the past hundred years have proven time and again that it doesn't work in practice the way it does in theory. On the contrary, in every country where it has existed, it has inevitably led to loss of liberty, widespread poverty and mass murder on a scale that has no parallel in human history. Point out this obvious fact to a liberal, and once he gets done calling you a greedy, heartless, bloodthirsty reactionary, he'll insist that we haven't yet seen true socialism. Actually, we have, though. We've seen it in the Soviet Union and Nazi Germany, in China, Cambodia, North Korea and Cuba."

Quote of the Day

"[A]ll are subject by nature to equal laws of morality, and in society have a right to equal laws for their government, yet no two men are perfectly equal in person, property, understanding, activity, and virtue, or ever can be made so by any power less than that which created them … all are subject by nature to equal laws of morality, and in society have a right to equal laws for their government."

Monday's Quote

"Republics are created by the virtue, public spirit, and intelligence of the citizens. They fall, when the wise are banished from the public councils, because they dare to be honest, and the profligate are rewarded, because they flatter the people, in order to betray them."
-Joseph Story, Commentaries on the Constitution, 1833

Another prophetic quote..

Quote of the Day

"[D]emocracy will soon degenerate into an anarchy, such an anarchy that every man will do what is right in his own eyes and no man's life or property or reputation or liberty will be secure, and every one of these will soon mould itself into a system of subordination of all the moral virtues and intellectual abilities, all the powers of wealth, beauty, wit and science, to the wanton pleasures, the capricious will, and the execrable cruelty of one or a very few."
-John Adams, An Essay on Man's Lust for Power, 1763

This is why we are a Constitutional Republic, and NOT a Democracy. Mob rule is not a path to Liberty. Put another way, Democracy is two wolves and a sheep voting on what to have for dinner.

Clarification

Some minor correction and clarification:

First, the Wisconsin proposal that has the union parasites in an uproar would take away the ability of most government employees to collectively bargain for benefits. They could still bargain for higher wages, but future wage increases would be capped at the federal Consumer Price Index, unless otherwise specified by a voter referendum. The bill would also require union members to contribute 5.8% of salary toward their pensions and chip in 12.6% of the cost of their health insurance premiums.

In comparison, public sector healthcare contribution averages about 20%, and retirement contribution averages about 7.5% (for 2009, according to Employee Benefits Research Institute)

I also failed to mention that teachers are bringing along their students to help fill the crowds (not like they're being taught, anyhow)...nothing like using children as tools to further your own ends..but then again, we are talking about parasitic far left liberal scum, so no real surprises:

In Bed With The Anti-American Unions

Ok, so exactly at what point do we stop giving the President the benefit of the doubt by assuming he's just unqualified, inexperienced, and/or inept for the job, and start calling him out on his Anti-American, active efforts to undermine the foundations of this country?

It's already well documented his on-the-record remarks on his aversion for the Constitution, as well as his desire for a Statist, all powerful central government (for all those whose education came from the public school system, that's what's called Socialism):

He's on record supporting a single-payer healthcare system, the forced purchase of health insurance, the forced implementation of so-called "green" energy (in spite of the fact that it's economically a disaster...just ask Spain), as well as the intentional stifling of the oil industry (four dollar a gallon gas is coming, people...don't blame the middle east, blame Obama and the politicians like him who have prevented tapping into our own extensive oil reserves).

It's also no surprise his close ties to union money, and his strong support of unions. In Wisconsin, union members are protesting, and the Democrats in the State House have left the state and gone into hiding to prevent passage of legislation that curbs the power and cost of the unions.

To listen to the union members, Dems, and union leaders, this is a violation of the worst degree, even comparing the Governor to Stalin, Hitler, or Mubarak.

What exactly does this EEEEE-VIL bill do? Are you sitting down? It's harsh!......Ready?

It would require state workers to pay half of their pension contributions, would increase the amount they pay for health insurance to 12.5% of the cost, and would take away their collective bargaining rights (no more forced raises without legislative approval, and state employees would not be forced to pay union dues even if they had no desire to join the union). Horrors!

Oh, and who pays all these sweet benefits currently? THE TAXPAYER...I'm sorry...THE EEE-VIL RICH PEOPLE WHO AREN'T PAYING THEIR FAIR SHARE...

Let me sum up; these parasitical dredges of left-wing scum are pissed off because they are going to have to contribute more to a benefits package that far surpasses 90% of public sector benefits, even given the increase is FAR less than what the public sector employee pays, and they can't force ridiculous mandatory raises to be paid out to them (with no requirements or measurements on job performance). And they can't force non-union employees to pay union dues.

Oh, and this trend is spreading; more anti-American Democrat legislators in Indiana are sneaking out and hiding in order to prevent similar laws being passed there, and Unions are already coordinating multiple protests across the country. Just look up Richard Trumka (who has openly has stated his desire to bring down the system in favor of a Socialist system..global, not just in America).

Now, let's add the fact that the unions are paying to BUS people in to the rally, as well as paying the homeless to "protest", that doctors are passing out fake "sick notes" to people to get them off of work without repurcushions, and the fact that most schools are completely shut down because most teachers are protesting (though I'm sure it's JUST for the welfare of the children they teach that they constantly claim to care about so much.).

Don't believe me? Look it up. Not hard to find. Oh, and then there's that annoying little tidbit of information that Dems really hate...the fact that the Communist Party USA is joining in to help with their "cause", as well as other anti-American, left-wing groups:

(No surprise...remember the video I posted several months ago of the "One Nation" Rally? Our beloved Democrats (including Obama's own official community organizing group) endorsed, supported, and attended, along with just about every left-wing radical Communist/Socialist/Marxist scumbag.

See, there's a very distinct and important difference between a Democracy, and a Republic. It would do people some good to look it up, but in a nutshell, Democracy boils down to "Tyranny of the Majority." And it has never worked...ever...in history. So those so-called calls and rallying cries for "Democracy"...bad idea.

Oh, did I mention that Richard Trumka has admitted that he's a regular visitor to the White House? According to him, as often as twice a week, with often daily phone calls to someone on the staff:

Being a Democrat now means being anti-Constitution? Anti Republic? Anti-American? If so, then leave the country; there's lots of Socialist utopias you can migrate to. We don't want your scum here.

From the, "You Can't Make This Sh*t Up" Category

In spite of receiving numerous votes in an online poll, It is unlikely that Fort Wayne‘s new government center will be named after the city’s longest tenured mayor.

Deputy Mayor Beth Malloy said naming it the “Harry Baals Government Center” was probably not going to happen because, “We’re not going to make any decisions that look bad.”

Sometimes jokes just write themselves...

Leave it to the Anti-American Left to consider unionizing a "Fundamental Human Right"

It's official! Those fine, quality Mall-Cop-Rejects of the TSA (you know, the ones that now either get to see you naked or fondle your crotch in the name of airline safety...) now get to unionize! This must be such a relief for them..now they can continue their abuse, and not have to ever worry about being fired!

As for the rest of us, in addition to having to go through a demeaning stage production that does nothing to improve airline safety, we can now deal with agents that no longer give a shit how well they do their job...they'll still get paid.

John Gage, president of the American Federation of Government Employees, stated: "Today marks the recognition of a fundamental human right for 40,000 patriotic federal employees who have been disenfranchised since the inception of the agency.” (emphasis mine)

WTF?! Um, were these poor, "oppressed" federal workers somehow having their rights violated? Am I the only one who wants to puke right about now? And using the word, "patriotic" would make me laugh, if it weren't so offensive.

Oh, and by the way, the TSA also is no longer going to be supporting the option to allow airports to opt out of using TSA in favor of hiring private firms for security. (Which would add the "evil" Capitalist concept of COMPETITION, which improves service, quality, and lowers cost...) I'm sure this has NOTHING to do with preserving those 40,000 precious unionized jobs...Nahhhhhh!!!

This is why I gave up flying.

People need to stop being mindless sheeple. It's hard to really nail down what is more offensive...the Socialist Lefties who actually WANT to throw out our Constitution, or the apathetic useful idiots who don't care what's happening to the country (at least not until they wake up and find the freedoms that were important to them are gone).

At least with the Leftist Anti-Americans, we know where they stand.

Kalifornia Korner - Sex Change on the Tax Payer's Dime!

Gotta love this one coming from the Socialist Utopian Society of the People's Republic of Kalifornia!

Seems that Berkeley City Council are deciding on whether to set aside taxpayer money for workers to get sex-change operations. Yep! Berkely, by the way, has about $252 million in unfunded liabilities for the promised benefits of its 1,500 workers. They also have been consistently ceding land over to UC (which doesn't pay the same city taxes), which has been forcing tax increases to make up for the lost revenue.

(translation: they're going broke).

They are wanting to set up a discretionary "Sex Reassignment Fund" (you can't make this shit up), which would pay out to qualifying city workers. ("Qualifying?!"....Now that sparks some really disturbing images...)

According to city officials (from an article in the San Francisco Chronicle today), the benefit is what is "just and fair" for the transgender community.

You know, I keep a separate file just on California Socialist BS...only been maintaining it for about 3 months, and I already have a sizeable collection.

"Those who try to connect Sarah Palin and other political figures with whom they disagree to the shootings in Arizona use attacks on 'rhetoric' and a 'climate of hate' to obscure their own dishonesty in trying to imply responsibility where none exists. But the dishonesty remains. ... [T]hose who purport to care about the health of our political community demonstrate precious little actual concern for America's political well-being when they seize on any pretext, however flimsy, to call their political opponents accomplices to murder."
--law professor Glenn Reynolds
“Of all tyrannies a tyranny sincerely exercised for the good of its victim may be the most oppressive. It may be better to live under robber barons than under omnipotent moral busybodies. The robber baron’s cruelty may sometimes sleep, his cupidity may at some point be satiated, but those who torment us for our own good will torment us without end for they do so with the approval of their own conscience.”

- C. S. Lewis
"Laws that forbid the carrying of arms... disarm only those who are neither inclined nor determined to commit crimes... Such laws make things worse for the assaulted and better for the assailants; they serve rather to encourage than to prevent homicides, for an unarmed man may be attacked with greater confidence than an armed man."
--Cesare Beccaria, On Crimes and Punishment, quoted by Thomas Jefferson in Commonplace Book

GUNS! EWWWW!!! ICKY!!!

Well, the Progressive-Socialist scum in Washington aren't wasting any time taking full advantage of the Arizona shooting! This time from both sides of the aisle. Legislation is on the table from Rep. Peter King (R-NY) to prevent the carrying of firearms within , “..1,000 feet of the President, Vice President, Members of Congress or judges of the Federal Judiciary.”

King said, “From a conservative perspective, we have to have a stable society, we have to keep crime down. You cannot do that if the police cannot be assured that illegal guns are not on the street. To have a stable society and a safe society, we have to remove illegal guns.”

So let's make sure I understand this: We need a NEW law that makes ILLEGAL guns...er...MORE ILLEGALER? And how would a law like this prevent some nut job from carrying a gun anyhow? Will he be worried about getting into trouble after he guns down the crowd? Anyone? Anyone? Buehler? Buehler? Hellooooo....

Ok, so then this law doesn't address those “super double-secret illegal” guns, but just “legal” gun owners...you know, the ones who tend to abide by the law, and aren't much inclined to open up on a politician or a crowd, but may be willing AND ABLE to stop a crazed killer if such a situation presented itself...

I can't picture too many law enforcement officers who are saying to themselves, “Boy, I'm going to feel soooo much more safe if this law is passed....it will all but obliterate those illegal guns!” I mean SERIOUSLY?

There is also legislation on the table from Sen. Frank Lautenberg (D-NJ) and Rep. Carolyn McCarthy (D-NY) that will introduce a measure to ban “high-capacity” gun clips (defined as more than 10 rounds). Forget the small detail that these morons don't know the difference between a “magazine” and a “clip”, this kind of law has been tried in the past, and it does absolutely nothing. (Remember the “assault weapons” ban? What a joke that was. It was so bad, they let it expire.)

Once again, we have an example of a bloated, corrupt bureaucracy that wants to gradually strip away our rights so they can have more power to control all aspect of our lives. From your right to protect your life, to what you can or cannot eat, to what you can and can't do in your car or in your house...

And as usual, there are way too many people who actually want a large, statist bureaucracy to relieve them of the stressful responsibilities of making decisions for themselves. These idiots will actually feel safer with this kind of legislative nonsense.

The left once again using the Constitution as a fecal wipe...

After the shooting of Arizona Rep. Gabrielle Giffords by some nut job, it may come as no surprise that leftist politicians, bloggers, talking heads, publications, etc. are now pushing for limitations on free speech by "proposing a ban on threatening language or symbols", as well as firing up the tired old argument of gun control.

Before any of the facts were in, they came out in droves to blame Glenn Beck, Sarah Palin, Rush Limbaugh, Fox  News, and the Tea Party "hate mongering" of influencing the shooter. One particularly brain-dead liberal (an oxymoron, I know), Eugene Robinson of the Washington Post, flat out stated that, "...violent rhetoric comes exclusively from the Right."

First off, this guy was a nut job. It doesn't matter if he was Right, Left, Christian, Atheist, Muslim, Nazi, or anarchist. Using this incident to try to gain political points is pretty sick, in my opinion. If we want to knit-pick the facts, then lets consider the information he gave on his social network pages, such as his favorite books being "Mein Kamf", and "Communist Manifesto" (staple reading for the far left), and the fact that his past associates all described him as being "very liberal"...

As for the the nonsense of only the Right incites violence, I did some searches; only a few minutes yielded me a ton of incidents of violence, and all that popped up on the initial search were FROM THE LEFT.

Examples:

How about some anti-Bush rallies? I wasn't able to find any decapitated Obama posters...

Funny how the "noble" Lefties didn't find a problem with these gems...but then again, these fit their agenda...

Need more?

How about some left wing anti-war protesters in Minnesota?

I'm only scratching the surface here, folks...a great resource can be found here:

“How do you tell a communist? Well, it’s someone who reads Marx and Lenin. And how do you tell an anti-Communist? It’s someone who understands Marx and Lenin.” — Ronald Reagan
